Poolen with the AC

November 26th, 2009

ac-pool-event-25-novWednesday, 25th of November, the day that has been in the minds of many (former) team members of DUT Racing for weeks. This day marked the very first pool tournament organized by the Action Committee (AC). A large part of the local Snooker Palace (the name is a bit of a mystery, because there are far more pooltables than snookertables) was occupied by 36 participants who signed up, old and young, good and bad, but all in a good mood.
The battle was fierce, the competition tough, the results close and the drinks many. In the end one team emerged victorious: Stef de Jong (former team manager) and Jan Taks. Second place went to Joris Aerts and Thijs Hendriks. After the short victory ceremony the group decided to go into Delft centre to score some more…. drinks. Congratulations to the winners and all participants who made this evening every bit as enjoyable. See you at the next AC® activity!

Kart Outing – Zoetermeer!

November 20th, 2009

The lap times improved throughout the evening and in the end the top of the timesheets showed a good mix of both current, ex- and possible future drivers…

Concept presentation

November 15th, 2009
JosvanderPlas_nl-20081209-4211.jpgThe first steps to  a new car are made! Last week there was a presentation by the Core Team, who told what will be the concepts to be designed for this years car. Conclusion is that we will further develop the successful design of the DUT09 (with its 2 design awards). Some changes will be that we’re going to work on aerodynamics and that we will research and apply electronic shifting. Although the monocoque will maintain its shape, the complete lay-up and inserts will be redeveloped. The other departments also have some good ideas for improvement. The aim is to create an even faster and more reliable car compared to last year. The design presentation on the 16th of December will show how this all turns out.
