With the DUT06 another light-weight car was designed and built. The goal was to keep the weight of the car under 120 kg (excluding fuel and cooling liquids), and this goal was successfully achieved: The DUT06 is the lightest Formula Student car ever built!

Another very important aspect of the DUT06 is reliability. In the past DUT Racing has performed very well in the design categories. Unfortunately the previous cars sometimes proved unreliable due to insufficient testing time and designing to the edge of technical possibilities. The team has learned from these mistakes and a lot of effort and time is put into testing and enhancing reliability in general. The result is noticeable, following cars have proven to be more reliable then ever before.
