Formula Student Germany Wednesday: regroup and continue

August 1st, 2012

Wednesday, August 1st was a day we dealt with a lot of setbacks. It didn’t go as planned, but we’ve overcome the setbacks! Below is a report of what has happened today:

First, we start with something positive: The last team members arrived in Hockenheim today, the team is now complete! It was the first time we cooked for 52 team members and it was delicious, good work, Carmen, Marly, Lisanne, Bastiaan and Remco!

We installed the energy meter in the morning. The energy meter is used to measure how much energy is consumed during the endurance. The less energy your car uses, the more points you will score for efficiency.

Furthermore, we stood in the queue for the E-scrutineering. The E-scrutineering is part of the technical inspection for electric cars. Unfortunately, we failed to participate in the E-scrutineering due to the long queue. The order of E-scrutineering is determined by a quiz. We did not perform well on this quiz so we were relatively low in the scrutineering order.

Because of this setback, we held an evaluation session and a new tactical plan was formed. Therefore we are better prepared for tomorrow so that we can catch up.
