ZF, a sponsor of our team, who also sponsors the Formula Student Germany event (FSG) decided to arrange an award ceremony for the team with the best design during FSG sponsored by ZF (Stuttgart) and the best ZF sponsored team at FSG. Because the DUT08 car was sponsored by ZF and won FSG, the team soon received an invitation to come pick up their prize at ZF’s R&D institute all the way in Friedrichshaven.

After a long drive, some representatives of the DUT08 team and most of the DUT09 management team arrived in a snowy Friedrichshaven. After staying the night in a lovely hotel in the city, we met our friends and rivals of Stuttgart at the ZF R&D institute. This is where we’ve seen some interesting presentations and an even more interesting tour at all the test facilities, including the test track.

After all these experiences, the most important part of our visit took place: The award ceremony. Frank Drop the Tech Manager of the DUT08, took the honors to receive the prize and thanked ZF, not only for supporting the DUT Racing team but also for supporting a beautiful event like FSG. With these words the ceremony was finished and it was time to say goodbye to Stuttgart and our hosts at ZF. So we could start our long journey home, after a warm stay in an ice-cold Friedrichshaven.
